Configuration

Enable Nickname Moderation

Go to Dashboard → Systems → Nicknames and enable the system.

Automatic Blocking

Hoisted nicknames:

Blocks nicknames starting with symbols (!, ?, #, etc.) to appear at the top of the member list. Marsha automatically renames them.

Unmentionable nicknames:

Blocks nicknames with special characters that prevent mentions. Useful for forcing usable nicknames.

Too long nicknames:

Set a maximum length (recommended: 32 characters).

Inappropriate nicknames:

Add a list of banned words in nicknames. Members with these words in their nickname are automatically renamed.

Replacement Nickname

When a nickname is blocked, define how to rename the member.

Options:

Username: Uses their Discord name (@username).

Custom nickname: Set a fixed nickname like "Member" or "Change your nickname".

Numbered nickname: "Member #1234" with a random number.

Exceptions

By roles:

Exempt certain roles from nickname moderation (e.g., Staff, VIP, Boosters).

By role groups:

Use your configured role groups to define exceptions.

Next Steps

  • Logs: Record nickname modifications
  • Settings: Configure role groups for exceptions
